Sladden Eagles Tasc share spoils

The Debswana First Division North League game between Sladden Eagles and Tasc that was played at Tagala Grounds on Sunday, March 16, ended in a stalemate after both teams failed to score.
It was Tasc who started the game on a high note and within five minutes they hit the post after a Victor Watlala’s shot hit the post and bounced back into play. Ten minutes into the first half they pressured further and Eric Nthoiwa found the net only to be ruled off side.
Tasc never looked back and gained momentum. In the 19th minute the architect of their brilliant moves, Kabo Montlenyene passed a though ball to Ramontsho Ramontsho who could only shoot over the post.
With the mounting pressure on Eagles, credit has to be given to their captain, Mompati Ontitile who took full responsibility to rejuvenate his side as his clean tackles stopped all threats his side was exposed to.
The skipper’s athleticism paid off as he managed to pull the strings together leading to an improved performance from his boys.
During one of the thrilling moments of the game, he cut through the midfield and passed to Letsweletse Mokgathi whose shot was never a threat to goalkeeper, Kenosi Masimo.
Ontitile continued to cause havoc and in one of his astounding moves which his side could have taken advantage of, he lobbed the ball to Kemiso Modisawapudi who was one on one with the keeper but shot wide.
As if that was not enough, the skipper again found Oarabile Tantshipi who also shot wide to end the first half scoreless.
Having been spectators, it was in the second half that Tasc introduced the duo of Modiri Ramadulela and Tsaone Moswate who injected life into their attack. The combination of the duo caused confusion and panic in the Eagles defence.
Ramadulela’s crosses created a lot of goal scoring opportunities, but luck was not in their side as they continued to squander chances. Eagles introduced Nkululeko Tagwa whose shots went wide and could not find the net until the end.
Tasc assistant coach, Johnson Moisakwena said the reason his side were not using the newly introduced kit bearing the logo of the leagues sponsors, Debswana, was because their manager had left to fetch it on Saturday and they expected to use it in their upcoming game. ENDS
