Cabling of clinics complete - Somolekae

Ministry of Health is actively engaged in the implementation and extension of Local Area Networks both in District Health Management Teams and clinics, including the provision of relevant hardware.
Answering a question in Parliament on March 4, the Assistant Minister of Health, Dr Gloria Somolekae said cabling of 18 clinics in greater Gaborone and 19 clinics in greater Francistown had been completed.
She said her ministry was cabling 100 clinics across the country and that there were 24 hour clinics with maternity wings. Dr Somolekae said a total of 972 computers and 315 printers had been procured and distributed to clinics and District Health Management Teams offices across the country.
The MP for Okavango, Mr Bagalatia Arone had asked the minister to give progress made to network and provide the relevant hardware to more than 300 DHMT, clinics, and offices that were transferred from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. ENDS
