There was an open tender for the design and technology equipment in all new senior secondary schools which was duly awarded in 2012, says the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development (MoESD), Mr Patrick Masimolole.

He told Parliament on March 4, that there was a mismatch between the design of the buildings especially the electrical provision and the equipment procured.

Mr Masimolole who was responding to a parliamentary question from Member of Parliament for Okavango, Mr Bagalatia Arone said the libraries had been supplied with immovable furniture, security systems and computers.

The initial consignment of books, he said, was not supplied mainly due to the state of completeness of the schools at that time and the newly decentralised structures. MP Arone had asked the minister to appraise Parliament on the state of design and technology laboratories and libraries in all the new senior secondary schools. ENDS
