Motswako artist, Glen Lekula, has kicked off his journey into the music scene with the release of a single: Thupa tse molelo, recorded at Emjo Records. The album launch will be held in March.

In an interview,  Lekula aka C-RU said his life experiences inspired the lyrical content found in his tracks, the more reason he decided to refer to his music as ghetto gospel. “The sound and concept of my album is different from other artists as I do live beats as well,” said the Francistown-based C-RU.

He said he lost his close family members in a short period of time, something that brought great pain to him. "However, on a positive note, the misfortune only served to inspire me to write a song," he said.

The artist, who has done a few shows around Francistown, said he worked with musicians such as HT. He explained that his intention was to spread his wings and pursue the industry outside the country. His future plans also included setting up a recording studio.

He urged other youth to never give up on achieving their dreams. The 30-year-old said there were times when he would walk to the studio because he did not have money, but he never gave up on his dream.ENDS
