Different speakers have described Botswana Television camera person, Bonolo ‘Javas’ Lekula as a humble and loving individual who got along with everyone.

Bonolo, who died on October 10, was laid to rest in Pitsane on Saturday.

His work mate, Mr Setshego Gaobolwe said Lekula was a softie as his name, Bonolo, suggests saying he fondly loved his work.

“Bonolo was never late even when we knocked off late, he was always one of the first to come to work in the morning,” he said. He further said Lekula was very knowledgeable and dedicated in his work.

His colleague, Mr Kabelo Moje described him as one of the best camera operators, saying it would not be easy to replace him.

Speaking on behalf of his friends, Mr Phemelo Moatshe pointed out that Lekula was always jolly and joked a lot.

Mr Moatshe said Lekula always ensured that in his presence, there was laughter and light moments.

His neighbour, Mr Cecil Masiga also echoed the same sentiments with all those who knew Lekula, saying he was a loving individual, adding that they never had issues with him during his life time.

Lekula was born in Mafikeng in 1967 and was the fourth child in a family of seven.

He started his primary schooling in Bontleng primary, then went to Matlala CJSS and Materspei senior school.
