President Advocate Duma Boko has acknowledged China’s assistance to Botswana over the past five decades, saying it has received support in infrastructure development, training and scholarships to young learners and cooperation on the international scene.

President Boko said this during a meeting with the State council of China premier, Mr Li Qiang in Beijing, China yesterday.

"We are grateful for this and to deepen relations between Botswana and your country. I must relay my profound respect to your country," President Boko added.

He also thanked Premier Li for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation.

In his welcome statement, Premier Li concurred with President Botswana on the solid friendship Botswana and China shared.

He said President Boko and President Xi Jinping had agreed to a strategic framework to enhance cooperation that would benefit both nations. ENDS
