03 Mar 2014
Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi says government is aware that businesses in small villages and isolated spots in major centres are vulnerable to attacks by armed robbers.
He said Botswana Police Service undertook regular patrols in order to address this problem, adding that business owners were also encouraged to ensure the safety of businesses.
Mr Masisi was responding to a parliamentary question on behalf of the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamtso Seretse on February 27. Member of Parliament for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile had asked whether the minister was aware that business ventures in small villages were vulnerable to attacks by armed robbers.
He further asked the minister to explain the strategy for providing a safe environment that supported the success of these business ventures. ENDS
