Major international business summit on cards for Vic Falls

18 Aug 2026

Zimbabwe is set to host a major international economic and social dialogue summit in Victoria Falls next month, with more than 1 000 delegates expected to converge on the resort town to deliberate on inclusive growth, decent work, investment and sustainable economic development.

The Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) Global Summit 2026 will be held from September 21 to 25 under the theme "Inclusive Growth, Decent Work, Beneficiation and Investment Promotion", bringing together representatives from Government, business, labour, development agencies, investors, academia, civil society and international institutions.

In a statement on Monday, the TNF said the summit is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to develop practical strategies to promote economic transformation, industrialization, job creation, and inclusive national development.

The summit will be officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, whose participation, the TNF said, demonstrates Government's commitment to strengthening social dialogue as a catalyst for economic transformation.

"His participation underscores Government's commitment to strengthening social dialogue as a catalyst for economic transformation, industrialization, job creation and inclusive national development," the TNF said.

The gathering has already attracted international interest, with more than 15 countries confirming participation, according to the TNF.

The forum is expected to attract senior government officials and ministers, employer organizations, trade union leaders, investors, diplomats, development agencies, international organizations, researchers and business executives from across Africa and beyond.

Beyond policy discussions, the TNF said the summit would be used to showcase Zimbabwe's economic opportunities and investment climate in a bid to position the country as a preferred destination for investment and trade.

"The event will strengthen partnerships between Government, business and labour while creating opportunities for international cooperation, knowledge exchange and investment mobilization," the organization said.

The forum also expects the summit to strengthen cooperation among the three key social partners  - Government, business and labour - while promoting consensus on policies capable of driving inclusive growth, industrial harmony and national prosperity.

The TNF said the event would provide an opportunity for investors, development partners, policymakers, researchers and business leaders to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment in Zimbabwe and the wider region. New Ziana
