Boko Attends SADC Summit

President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko is in Durban, South Africa participating in the 46th Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government.
According to a press release from the Ministry of International Relations the summit convened under the theme: Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive Industrialisation through Infrastructure Development,
Agricultural and Critical Minerals Transformation in Pursuit of a Just World. The theme demonstrates the region’s commitment to advancing industrialisation through the development of agriculture, infrastructure and critical minerals. The Heads of State and Government reviewied progress on industrial development and economic integration and deliberated on political developments, peace and security matters. They also among other issues, assessed the impact of geopolitical developments in the SADC region and the operationalisation of the SADC Regional Development Fund, which is aimed at financing and supporting development projects and programmes. The 46th SADC Summit witnessed the handingover of the SADC chairpersonship from Zimbabwe President and outgoing SADC Chairperson, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. President Boko is accompanied by First Lady Kaone Boko, Minister of International Relations Dr Phenyo Butale, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Mr Nelson Ramaotwana, and senior government officials.
President Boko and his delegation are expected to return home tomorrow. ENDS
