The Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) in Kanye has recorded strong uptake of its new Poultry Financial Suite, with 64 project applications worth P829,367.04 submitted since the product launched. Of those, 44 projects have been approved at a combined value of P456,025.82, according to  CEDA  Kanye Branch Manager Mr Tuelo Rabaloi.

Mr Rabaloi said the response showed growing interest among local entrepreneurs in poultry production as a viable business.  

“We have received a great turnout of applicants who showed interest in the new Poultry Financial Suite,” Rabaloi said in an interview.  

He said the branch is now at the stage of disbursing funds and settling payments to suppliers in line with contractual agreements signed with successful clients.

The revamped Poultry Financial Suite was launched in May 2026 to boost citizen participation, food security and local production across the poultry value chain.

The suite provides targeted financing for broiler and layer chicken farming, indigenous chicken production, hatcheries, abattoirs and processing, feed mills, informal and micro businesses, cooperatives and a Project Preparation Fund.

Mr Rabaloi said the suite also aimed to create employment and reduce reliance on poultry imports. He said financing covered infrastructure and equipment such as drinkers, feeders, housing and water systems, as well as working capital for day-old chicks, feed, labour, utilities, vaccines, biosecurity materials and other inputs. “Once funds are released and suppliers paid, the approved beneficiaries are expected to begin operations, contributing to food production and job creation in the area and surrounding communities,” he added.

Disbursements, he said were made directly to suppliers and released progressively once each stage of a project has been verified and approved. He said CEDA continued to process the remaining applications and would monitor implementation of approved projects to ensure the intended economic impact is realised. ENDS
