Ministry of Water and Human Settlement is aware that there is inadequate water supply to Molongwa Junior Secondary School (JSS) in Khakhea.

Answering a question in Parliament on July 29, Minister of Water and Human Settlement, Mr Onneetse Ramogapi said Khakhea village was supplied with water from two low yielding boreholes producing 0.8 million litres per day against a water demand of 1.1 million litres per day, thus resulting in a deficit of 0.3 million litres per day. He said his ministry had recently completed and commissioned a project on equipping a new borehole (BH 10292) and construction of pipeline to supply Itholoke village with water.

He said Water Utilities Corporation had plans to tap water from the new pipeline to supply the school. This decision he stated was taken in consideration that the new borehole adequately supplied the small Itholoke village giving 0.08 million litres per day against the demand of 0.062 million litres per day. Mr Ramogapi said the plan was to construct a 2.9 kilometre pipeline to the school before end of August 2026.

He was responding to a question from the MP for Jwaneng/Mabutsane, Mr Omphemetse Kwapa who had asked the minister if he was aware that there was inadequate water supply at some teachers houses at Molongwa JSS and if so what measures would be put in place to address the situation. ENDS
