Botswana makes first poultry export

Minister of Lands and Agriculture, Dr Edwin Dikoloti (left) and Ross Breeders managing director, Mr Allen Bradford during the official launch of the first export consignment of hatching eggs to Mozambique on July 22. Ross Breeders company in Artesia will be exporting 90 000 hatchery eggs to Mozambique every week. The achievement marks the beginning of a sustainable weekly export programme aimed at positioning Botswana as a premier hub for high quality poultry. Minister Dikoloti applauded the project saying it had already generated 370 direct jobs,stimulating the local economy and demonstrated the power of private-sector led growth supported by enabling government policy.
