The global sprinting spotlight shifts to the Stade Louis II, as the elite duo of Collen Kebinatshipi and Letsile Tebogo continue their Diamond League campaign at the prestigious Meeting Herculis EBS on July 10. 

Kebinatshipi, fresh off a historic performance at the Meeting de Paris, where he shattered the Diamond League record with a blistering time of 43.54 seconds, the newly crowned World Athletics June Athlete of the Month, enters the 400m as the heavy favourite. 

Currently sitting comfortably at number two in the Diamond League standings with 24 points, Kebinatshipi is laser-focused on locking in his first-ever appearance at the Diamond League Finals in Brussels in September. 

He will face a formidable field that includes Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith, South Africa’s Zakithi Nene, USA’s Jacory Patterson and Trinidadian powerhouse, Jereem Richards, Muhammad Abdallah Kounta of France and Attila Molnár of Hungary.

On the track, Kebinatshipi’s dominance is anchored by tactical precision and a signature high-turnover, fluid stride. 

Unlike traditional 400-metre runners who rely on aggressive and muscular pacing, he maintains an incredibly relaxed upper body, gliding through the backstretch with maximum efficiency. 

This effortless biomechanical efficiency preserves his energy reserves and sets up an explosive final 100 metres that routinely leaves opponents gasping.

Reigning Olympic 200-metre champion, Tebogo is set to drop down in distance to test his raw and top-end speed in the 100m. 

Tebogo is locked into a star-studded lineup featuring Jamaica’s Oblique Seville, who holds the world-leading time of 9.82 seconds, American world indoor champion, Jordan Anthony, Sam Blaskowski of USA, Italy’s former Olympic 100m gold medallist, Marcell Lamont Jacobs, Ronal Longa of Colombia, Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon, Owen Ansah of Germany. 

As a natural 200m specialist, Tebogo possesses elite speed endurance, which translates into a lethal transition phase once he hits top-end speed.
