Chobe United have received a shot in the arm thanks to Giant Transport company.
The team, which was established in 1972 and affectionately will receive P5 000 every month for a year. The general manager of Giant Transport, Sean Bester said he saw it fit to lend a helping hand to the struggling team.
“This is the beginning our faithful marriage with Chobe United and we hope that by encouraging them they will also work hard to do their best and improve from their current performance,” said Bester.
He further said it was their wish to see the Chobe United aka Maragakwena going to higher places. The company also donated new replica jerseys and other sports equipment including four goalkeeper gloves, 20 balls, nets and soccer boots amongst others.
Chobe United captain Motlhokomedi Robert expressed his happiness towards the sponsorship saying it meant a lot to them because they had been running short of sport equipment.
Robert further added that the problems that they have been facing as the team are now solved as they have strong management compared to the last few years.
Bogosing Bogosing, the chairman of the team said it has been very hard for them to get sponsorship even though there are only few teams in the Chobe district.
He complained that mostly the sponsors are in the southern part of the country, so since they are far they are never considered by sponsors. ENDS
