Boko Attends SACU Summit

CAPETOWN - President Advocate Duma Boko arriving in South Africa to attend the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU). The summit, which will run from Wednesday until Friday, has brought together leaders of the five SACU member states; Botswana, eSwatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa to deliberate on measures aimed at deepening economic integration, enhancing intra-regional trade and strengthening industrial development across the region. Botswana’s participation in the summit underscores the country’s commitment to advancing regional economic integration, promoting industrial development and strengthening regional value chains as drivers of sustainable economic growth, job creation and shared prosperity. President Boko is also expected to attend a state dinner for Heads of State and Government tomorrow to be officiated by South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa. Vice President and Minister of Finance, Mr Ndaba Gaolathe and Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mr Tiroeaone Ntsima will also attend the summit. Photo: Thompson Keobaletswe
