Coaches to hone young stars skills 

Yun Jenius Academie will host its first sports development clinic camp at Shashe River School in Tonota on June 20.

The camp will bring together young athletes from Tonota and surrounding areas.

The man behind the idea of a sports camp, Sensei Otsile Motsamai said the clinic camp would bring together young athletes and coaches from different sports codes.

Close to 150 boys and girls are expected to take part.

He said the sport camp aims at reaching out to athletes who lacked resources to showcase their talent by giving them a platform to train, learn and be seen by coaches and scouts.

Sensei Motsamai said the programme would cover talent identification and grooming across multiple sporting codes through basic coaching techniques, fitness and game understanding.

He said the sports clinic would also introduce the young athletes to attributes of discipline, team work and life skills that support both sport and school performance.

“It will also create networking opportunities between athletes, coaches, and local stakeholders to address resource gaps, and raise awareness of sport as a tool for youth development and community engagemen,” he said. ENDS
