Tsopye Cluster 6 Completes 8th Winter Donation Drive for Makaba II Primary School Pupils

22 May 2026

In a continued spirit of community care and philanthropy, Cluster Number 6 in Tsopye has completed its 8th cycle of winter donations, providing school shoes, socks, jerseys, beanies, and sanitary towels to needy learners at Makaba II Primary School.

The handover ceremony, held on Friday at the Tsopye Kgotla, was attended by key stakeholders including the Kgosi, Area Councillor, School Head, cluster representatives, and members of the community.

Speaking at the event, Makaba II Primary School Head, Mr. Dickson Ramagang, expressed deep appreciation for the donation, noting that the programme has been running since 2018.

“Each year, these donations bring dignity and comfort to learners who would otherwise lack the basic items their peers have,” he said. Mr Ramagang added that the gesture creates a more conducive learning environment and contributes positively to school performance.

He revealed that the school achieved a 78.1 percent pass rate in the 2025 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE), narrowly missing the 80 percent target. The school has not met its target for the past three years, but Mr Ramagang expressed optimism that this year’s performance would improve with continued community support.

Founder and former Nyorosi Councillor, Mr Kagisanyo Tau, said the cluster aims to expand the programme by appealing to the public and business community for greater support.

“This cycle has assisted 20 vulnerable children with essential winter items,” Mr Tau said.

He explained that beneficiaries are carefully selected by the school’s guidance and counselling department, with whom the cluster maintains a close working relationship. To ensure sensitivity, parents of the selected learners are invited to the school to receive the items on behalf of their children.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to all stakeholders who have consistently supported the initiative over the years. End
