Former president, Dr Festus Mogae, will be laid to rest at Phomolong Memorial Park in Phakalane May 16.

Accordingly, Dr Mogae will be granted a state funeral, and a Book of Condolences will be opened at Parliament from May 12 to May 15 starting 6am to 6pm, to allow members of the public to pay their respects and convey messages of sympathy to the Mogae family.

Announcing funeral arrangements for Dr Mogae, on Botswana Television and Radio Botswana, Botswana Government Communications and Information System deputy director, Mr Lawrence Seretse, said the late president would lie in state at Parliament on May 13.

A national memorial service will take place on May 14 Gaborone from 2pm to 6pm at a venue yet to be communicated, while the Procession of Honour will take place on May 15 in Gaborone, from 4pm until 5pm, along a route that will be announced, Mr Seretse said.  Meanwhile, prayer sessions continue at Boipuso Hall until May 13.
