Boko awards prisons service officers

President Advocate Duma Boko has awarded medals to 71 Botswana Prisons Service (BPS) staff members who have excelled in serving the nation.
The medals were awarded to officers for meritorious service, distinguished service order, jubilee service as well as long service and good conduct during the medal awards ceremony in Mahalapye last Friday.
The President also decorated four senior assistant commissioners in Angelinah Chika, Kebaeditse Zwemizi, Kgosietsile Loeto and Shathani Thela for their exceptional meritorious service and outstanding contribution to the development of the prisons service and Botswana generally.
Another batch of 21 officers were honoured with distinguished service order for meritorious service with exemplary record and had served in the prisons service for at least 30 continuous years.
Also, 45 officers got medals for jubilee service, having served for at least 25 years of continuous and good service.
Among those awarded was one warder, Mr Sthathiso Nakedi who was recognised for long service and good conduct in his 18 years of service.
The awarding of the medals is a noble gesture aimed at acknowledging and celebrating the selfless contributions by the officers through their unwavering commitment, dedication, discipline, courage and willingness to go above and beyond their prescribed duties. ENDS
