The second instalment of the Manyana 4X4 Meet and Camp, steered by Maverick Motorsport and Ranger Girls, will feature over 30 monster vehicles from South Africa in Manyana this weekend.

Joining from home soil will be six 4x4 clubs, including the Land Cruiser and the Jeep Nation Botswana Club.

Giving an overview of the massive event, Event Co-Manager Joseph Khengere said the thrilling show would exhibit fierce competition among 4x4 off-road cars, all in pursuit of bringing joy and networking time to spectators.

The event will also feature three main obstacles: tug of war, sand time trial, and king of the hill, a very technical challenge where drivers must exercise sheer power and driving skill to pass through a riverbed all the way up the hill.

He said this would be a breathtaking exercise for spectators to witness.

He said there would be camping on April 25, followed by sightseeing of nearby heritage sites organised for visitors from South Africa.

Khengere said their main idea was to make Manyana a tourist site and a 4x4 destination place.

He further said as part of giving back to the community, this time all service providers on the day were coming from Manyana, as a way of empowering local small and medium businesses.

Khengere further highlighted that this time around they had packaged a token of appreciation, which would be presented to the Village Development Committee on behalf of the Manyana community.

He singled out their partners Ford and Champion Lubricants for their stellar job in putting together the event. ENDS
