Golden Grand Prix are closing all gaps to test readiness ahead of the major event scheduled for April 26. “The team has planned an event dubbed: Road to Botswana Golden Grand Prix at the University of Botswana Stadium tomorrow to test readiness of all the sub-committees amongst them technical, protocol, media, medic and transport,” said spokesperson, Calistus Kolantsho. World Athletics governing body had downgraded the meet from gold to silver following failure by Gaborone meet to satisfy the governing body’s time lines in the last edition held in Gaborone in April 2025.In that regard, Kolantsho said they want to claim back their status by doing everything by the book.
