The annual colourful Bandleng Kiddies Festival and Family Fun Day slated for Lobatse Town Park on Saturday is expected to attract masses.

The event combines music entertainment and amusing activities where attendees will get to enjoy bursts of vibrant coloured powder creating a visually stunning moment, jumping castles, quad bikes, horse rides, electric cars, trampolines, play stations, snooker, table games, scrabble, team games, sack race, dances, egg race and team building activities amongst others.

Event promoter, Lucky Ranko said the event which started three years ago and held twice a year in April and November, had shown impressive growth. It was conceptualised as a family bonding event and a great way to create cherished memories through entertainment after the organisers had noticed that children needed a bustling, safe and fun recreational activity.

 “It is a fun family event that encourages families to bond. We realised that most of the events in Lobatse were targeted at the elderly hence we came up with the concept to get parents to play with their children in a relaxed environment and have fun together,” he said.

Furthermore, he said Botswana music sensation, Han-c would etertain the crowd as a headliner and about seven Lobatse music Artists including DJ Chrxnic, DJ Isat, Ms Lerah, and DJ Garfield amongst others were scheduled to thrill the crowd. 

“It is a lineup of warm party music packed with Lobatse artists as our way of supporting the local music industry,” he said.

Additionally, he said the event would be packed with exciting competitions, free activities as well as paid for activities adding that the family game competitions would be sponsored by Debonnairs with Pizza vouchers. Ranko encouraged parents to not just buy tickets for their children but to also join them adding that some of the children misbehaved at times especially when their parents were not present.

 “When they are given an opportunity to come, some may become a little problematic, but we promise that security will be very tight,” he said.

Every entrant will be given a sachet of a safe coloured powder and there will be a time when they will throw them in the air to be showered by vibrant bursts of colour. ENDS
