Francistown will make history by hosting its first-ever motor show, scheduled to take place at Toro Junction Mall on March 13-14.

The inaugral Francistown Motor Show promises to be a game-changer for the city’s automotive scene, bringing together top brands, service providers and industry stakeholders.

The show will feature a wide range of exhibitors, including new car dealerships, vehicle finance and insurance providers, and exotic and classic cars. Visitors can enjoy vehicle test drives, a kids’ corner with go-karts and quad bikes, and a live motor show after-party on Saturday evening.

“It is a great opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and for visitors to experience the latest in automotive innovation,” said chief organiser, Mr Joseph Khengere, during a recent media briefing held to launch the show.

Mr Khengere also indicated that the Francistown Motor Show would be a hit because the people of Francistown have not had similar shows before. As Mr Khengere put it, ‘Gone are the days when everything good happens in Gaborone. Francistown’s time is now’. 

Meanwhile, the managing director of Toro Junction mall, Mr Hubert Beukelman said the mall was designed to be a lifestyle shopping and entertainment centre and community hub.

“It is a hub that caters for the southern areas of Francistown, but most of all, for the entire city and its surroundings,” he said.

Mr Beukelman described a lifestyle mall as one that housed various departments offering various services that supported daily lifestyle activities.

He further indicated that the mall had already held few exciting events such as marathons and runs, various activations, a cancer awareness run, and blood donation activities in the past, making it an appropriate place to host the upcoming motor show. BOPA
