Tsabong JCI donates trees

Junior Chamber International (JCI) donated 50 trees to Tsabong Primary School recently, with the aim of bringing about positive changes to the society in line with the Millennium Development Goals.
Speaking during the event, Tsabong JCI president, Ms Abigail Engleton said their aim was to contribute towards the betterment of livelihoods, which also involved taking care of the environment. “Trees give us life, we cannot live without them,” she said and expressed gratitude to the Department of Forestry which donated ten types of trees which include morula, moroja, motsentsela.
Ms Engleton explained that as a non-profit making entity, JCI is committed to empowering young people to create positive changes to the society in line with Millennium Development Goals. She pledged commitment to community projects as a result.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the school head, Ms Bridgett Lebotse thanked JCI and said that they were honoured to have received the trees. She said trees will not only provide shade, but will help students learn more about trees as well as enhance the landscape around the school. Ends
