A number of projects in the Moshupa/Manyana constituency are said to be progressing well. The area MP, Mr Karabo Gare learnt during a tour of projects in the consti tuency, that the construction of Moshupa Primary Hospital, which started about six years ago was expected to be complete in April.

It was reported that certain s e c t i o n s o f t h e h o s p i t a l t h a t i n c l u d e t h e administration, main stores, guard house, and the main recepti on were handed over to management last year November, to begin preparati ons for a full handing over. Meanwhile, the kitchen, public toilets, laundry, general ward, engineering workshop, and another guard house are ready to be handed over before April.

The MP was also informed that constr ucti on of Moshupa police station was on schedule and within budget. Mr Gare acknowledged the importance of the Manyana/Moshupa road, which was reported to be experiencing some delays.

“We believe that all challenges have been identified, and things will stabilise,” said Mr Gare. He cautioned that it was important not to compromise the quality of work or to rush the project at the expense of expected standards. M oshupa District commissioner, Ms Kolobetso Sejakgomo, appreciated the challenges raised by contr actors and urged them to speed up the work.

She also encouraged them to hire locals so that their livelihoods might be improved, parti cularly with the upcoming Bonno Housing project, which already had a contr actor and a site secured. ENDS
