Mosimanyane shares expertise

25 Nov 2025

Botswana coach Kebonyemodisa Dose Mosimanyane’s impressive work has earned him an international platform to share his coaching expertise at the International Course of Athletic Coaching (ICAC).

Mosimanyane was recently invited by the Korea Association of Athletics Federations (KAAF) to present on modern speed training.

He served as an assistant lecturer alongside Volker Herrmann for the World Athletics Coaches Education Certification System (CECS) Level 3 course, held from November 19 to 23.

Mosimanyane coaches some of Botswana’s top-performing athletes, including Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo, Bayapo Ndori, and Leungo Scotch.

ICAC director Younghoon Chung said in an interview that the programme was part of government’s initiative focused on sports education and development.

For over a decade, the programme has invited 20 participants from 20 countries annually to support nations in need.

However, this year saw a major expansion, with 214 coaches from 66 countries completing the course.

Chung said Mosimanyane was invited to share his story and coaching philosophy on becoming a world-class, serial-winning sprint coach.

He added that Mosimanyane spoke about his humble beginnings, passion for athletics, and commitment to continuous learning and self-driven development. Mosimanyane offered valuable insights into modern speed training, attracting interest from both international participants and the local Korean coaching community.

Chung noted that the Botswana coach was not only a modest learner but also had strong potential to grow into a professional lecturer in the field.

“Overall, it was an utmost pleasure for the athletics community of Korea and our federation to host him,” he said.

World Athletics representative Gunter Lange noted that another Botswana coach, Argo Lefatshe, also attended the course. He said both Mosimanyane and Lefatshe had previously attended his middle-distance coaching course and hold Level I and II certifications. Lange expressed satisfaction with their development, describing them as astute coaches.

He added that Mosimanyane had been specially invited to contribute to the sprint coaching component, working alongside sport science experts to help produce elite sprint coaches. ENDS
