Letlapeng suffer setbback

Debswana First Division South log leaders, Letlapeng on February 15, suffered a 0-3 defeat at the hands of the visiting Mogoditshane Fighters.
Thamiso Gaogangwe opened the scoring for the former premier league side in the first half before Gopolang Matlou and Daniel Mogapi wrapped a vital win for the visitors.
The loss was Letlapeng’s second in their quest to gain promotion to the premier league but the Ramotswa side was still patched at the top of the log.
Despite the win, Fighters under the guidance of the former Zebras marksman, Mpho Mabogo could have scored more if they had taken advantage of their numerous chances.
Letlapeng defence, led by Captain Kefitile Magama and had conceded five goals in their past 13 games, could have dealt easily with the first and second goals, but failed to clear the ball from the charging Fighters attack.
As such, it was not surprising that even after taking a three nil lead, Mogoditshane Fighters looked the most likely side to score. In a post-match interview, Mogoditshane Fighters caretaker coach, Mabogo said his opponents committed many mistakes in critical areas which his players took advantage of, something he said was commendable.
He said his plan was to stop Letlapeng from playing their normal game, adding that his team was still building because they have new young players they were trying new combinations with.
Letlapeng coach, Tahloba Nthaga said his side succumbed to the defeat mainly because they defended poorly and also failed to convert their chances. “They seemed to have more hunger than us, they are a good team and I must congratulate them,” he added.
Furthermore, Nthaga promised that his team will bounce back from the infamous defeat saying, “we have lost before, we will bounce back, at one point it was bound to happen.” ends
