Club enhances productivity

Serowe Productivity Social club does not only benefit its members but it also enhances productivity in the work place, chairperson of the club, Sergeant Godfrey Mudongo of Prison services has said.

Mudongo said this when awarding medals to teams after a football tournament at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital in Serowe. The club also donated a television set to the hospital.

He appealed for support from members of the public service and the community at large saying the club’s aim was not only for the teams to win but also to exercise.

The tournament also brought together government employees and those from the private sector  and enhanced networking through participating in different sports codes. Mudongo said football was the only available sport code, but other codes would be added as time went by. He urged business community to also support the club. Part of the money raised by the club would  ploughed back into the community, he said.

Sergeant Mudongo expressed his disappointment at heads of department (HODs)who failed to attend although they had been invited. He stressed the need for HODs to attend these events saying they were important in the success of theclub. He urged them to help the participants with resources needed during the games.

The team from theDepartment of Agriculture went home with the 16 teams’ league championship trophy, while the trophy for tournament was snatched by Central Transport organization (C.T.O). The fixtures for this year’s games are out and they have already started. Ends
