Entertainment enthusiasts around Molepolole are set for a thrilling day of heritage lifestyle experience at the Great Wall Farm this Saturday.
Organiser of the event Ndinaye Chengeta says it will be held under the banner, 'Heritage, a Celebration of African Fashion, Music and Good Company'. The Heritage, event is about style, pride and a calm way to unwind, he explained in an interview.
“It’s about looking good, meeting mature people and celebrating ourselves through our African attire."
He said they were expecting controlled crowd of around 500 people at the event, including female soldiers from Thebephatswa airbase.
“We’ve created an environment with controlled noise, tight security and proper surveillance. It’s all about having fun in a safe and relaxed space,” Chengeta shared.
Performers lined up include crowd favourites Isa and Dr Vom, alongside Molepolole’s own Afro Convicts DJs. Chengeta encouraged guests to bring their own camp chairs, cooler boxes and rugs. He added that those planning to spend the night would have access to a secure camping area.
Chengeta explained that his inspiration for Heritage came from the artworks and backdrops around the farm which have become a hit for photo lovers.
“People stop their cars just to take pictures. The venue is already becoming a landmark,” he said.
While Heritage promised music and fashion, Chengeta was also clear about its economic value.
“The event creates jobs for villagers who handle security and sell food. It gives locals a chance to push their products,” he noted.
“It’s also our way of testing the potential of the venue and showing that people can have fun away from bars.”
The Great Wall Farm, which is nearing completion is set to become a one-stop centre for events and accommodation, according to Chengeta. For Chengeta this is part of a bigger plan to position Molepolole as a destination for agro-tourism and lifestyle experiences.
Regular supporter and Member of Parliament of Molepolole South, Shima Monageng is expected to grace the event.
“Molepolole has been my home for a very long time. I understand the people and I have no problem with them,” Chengeta said. ENDS
