Boko Back from UN Conference

President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko on September 28 returned home following a working visit to New York, United States of America, where he participated in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80).

The session marked the 80th anniversary of the United Nations under the theme: Better Together. 80 Years More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.

During the visit, President Boko delivered his maiden address to the General Assembly, reaffirming Botswana’s steadfast commitment to multilateralism, sustainable development, the promotion of human rights and the advancement of global peace.

In addition, the President participated in several high-level engagements, co-hosted and served as a panelist at selected events, while holding bilateral meetings with world leaders to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities for partnership.

President Boko’s engagements at UNGA 80 reinforced Botswana’s voice on the global stage and emphasised the nation’s commitment to shaping a more peaceful, just, and prosperous world. ENDS
