02 Sep 2025

Rising soul rhythm and blues sensation, Kesego Lysson launched her highly anticipated extended play (EP) titled Semeche at The Altitude in Gaborone recently.

The four-track EP, features singles such as Ke a ingapangapela, Worst Goodbyes, Se Mang Mang, Semeche as well as 2024 hit single Tshweu Thwaa. Lysson teamed up with other talented Botswana gems in the soul genre such as Sal Angel, Dato Seiko, Ayanda, Uncle X as well as Mumsy to deliver a poetic rendition.

With the EP signature blend of raw emotions and infectious soulful and soothing melodies from Botswana’s next generation of showbiz talent, they delivered songs that lingered in the audience mind long after the performances ended.

The Semeche EP explores themes of love, heartbreak, and vibes against a backdrop of dynamic instrumentations and moving vocals. Lyrically written and delivered in Setswana, the EP is a treasure of introspection and emotions. Each song built upon the theme and motive introduced in each track, closing in a powerful climax that left a lasting impression on the audience.

Lysson’s EP launch exceeded already high expectations from the audience with soothing listening experience.  The master class launch showcased the growth of all artists, their maturity as musicians, while still retaining the raw energy and emotions that first thrilled with their music.

“This EP is a reflection of love, of the pain endured, the wrongs remembered and yet, through it all. Rising with gratitude for the lessons that shaped you. It is a journey through the emotional seasons; falling in love, facing the sting of being ghosted and coming to terms with the truth that love is not always effortless,” said Lysson in an interview.

Produced by a talented team of Flex The Ninja and Sandi Ncube, this EP reflects Lysson’s commitment to creating quality music. And, with its dynamic rhythm, reminiscent deep lyrics, and catching melodies Semeche EP is poised to be a must-listen for fans of soulful beats and an essential in local airwaves.

As the momentum behind the Semeche EP continues to build, Lysson remains focused on delivering more performances and promoting the project across the country.  With this fresh sound, Lysson is ready to make her mark on the local showbiz and hopes to collaborate with other great artists locally, before she spread her wings outside the borders of this country.

“I am hoping for collaborations with the likes of Mpho Sebina, Han C, Sereetsi and the Natives and many more in the near future,” Lysson said, adding that she also hoped to give her fans a full album in 2026. ENDS
