Strategic plan aims for progress

Mahalapye East MP, Mr Augustine Nyatanga, has launched the Mahalapye Strategic Plan 2024-2029, aiming to enhance the well being of constituents throughout the planning period.
Speaking during the launch in Mahalapye August 29, Mr Nyatanga said the constituency faced a myriad of challenges, which included among others, unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to resources such as land and lack of economic opportunities.
Mr Nyatanga, who is also the Assistant Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, said this plan defined their ambition to overcoming these challenges and building a more resilient future.
He further stated that the plan, outlined strategic objectives and goals that would assist his office to effectively fulfil its mandate to provide the highest quality of live to communities.
Mr Nyatanga said the plan would help enhance the standard of health in communities, promote the quality of life and promote sports development together with arts and culture.
“This plan will promote economic development and ensure youth participation in the economy, promote education and skills development, promote food production and self-sufficiency and raise funds for community projects,” said Mr Nyatanga.
The MP said that he intended to be answerable and ensure interaction with his electorates.
Morupule Coal Mine chief executive officer, Mr Edwin Elias said the plan was an act of vision and a powerful declaration of intent. “It is a process that fundamentally shapes livelihoods, energises the economy and secures the future of the people. It also sets a clear deliberate path toward prosperity for all,” he said.
Mr Elias commended the MP for his exceptional leadership and foresight mentioning that it was through his dedication and commitment that this strategic plan had been meticulously crafted saying it was a bold statement of intent and a practical roadmap that responded directly to the needs and aspirations of the people he was representing.
He said the strategic plan was built upon clear foundations guided by the key principles and values of inclusion, equity, accountability, transparency and teamwork. Mr Elias said the plan would deliver real transformation leading to improvement of the quality of life and social welfare of communities in Mahalapye East, promote the wellbeing and health of constituents and increase participation of sports and also develop skills and talents among the youth.
He said Morupule Coal Mine was ready to partner with the leadership of Mahalapye East in areas where their resources and expertise allowed and they were committed to supporting projects that aligned with their strategic plan and contributing to the realisation of their goals.
Kgosi Tshipe Tshipe of Mahalapye applauded Mr Nyatanga on his efforts to develop and build his constituency by coming up with a strategic plan stating that it was a step towards the right direction.
He said this was a positive move that would empower the community of Mahalapye East constituency. Kgosi Tshipe wished it could spread across Mahalapye because it showed that it would clearly yield good results looking at stakeholders involved. ENDS
