Tsabong public servants give back to community

01 Sep 2025

Public servants in the Tsabong District have donated toiletries to the Tsabong Primary Hospital maternity ward.

This initiative, born from a desire to address the economic challenges facing the country and a sense of social responsibility, highlights the community-focused ethos of the district’s public service.

Speaking at the handing over session recently, Tsabong District Wellness Committee chairperson, Ms Maleshoane Segakisa noted that the wellness committee began this donation drive in April with the goal of making a meaningful impact in the lives of the most vulnerable members of the community.

The success of this initiative she said, had inspired the committee to continue its efforts, with future plans to identify and address other critical needs within the district.

“This act of generosity not only provided much-needed supplies but also served as a powerful reminder of the profound impact of collective action and social responsibility,” said Ms Segakisa.

She further explained that the donation, which included nappies, sanitary pads, toilet paper, bathing soaps, vaseline, toothbrushes and toothpaste, was primarily funded through contributions from the employees, demonstrating their unwavering commitment despite the challenging economic climate.

She pointed out that the collective effort was driven by a deep-seated belief that “transforming the world starts with helping the person next to you.”

Tsabong Primary Hospital Principal nursing officer, Ms Bagele Nalebomo, who received the donation on behalf of the institution, applauded the public servants for their sterling work, emphasising that the toiletries were critically needed.

She called on other stakeholders to follow suit, underscoring the importance of supporting new mothers and their new-borns. ENDS
