Red Roses confident of final

Gaborone United Ladies are determined for victory against Costa do Sol of Mozambique today and progress all the way to the final of the COSAFA regional qualifiers for the 2025 CAF Women's Champions League.
The two sides clash in a semifinal encounter at the UJ AW Muller Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, at 12 pm.
Against Costa do Sol, the Red Roses are expected to continue with their good performance.
According to team manager, Owe Mmolawa, the team was in good spirit and ready for the match, with only two minor injuries, which their medical team had been attending to.
Mmolawa said their good performance in group stages, where they beat Young Buffaloes of eSwatini 1-0 and thrashed Kick4 Life of Lesotho 10-1, showed the girls determination to lift the trophy.
The Red Roses reached the final in their debut appearance last year in Malawi where they lost on penalties to University of Western Cape and Mmolawa said the team had this time around put extra focus on composure, confidence and rehearsing pressure moments.
"We are better equipped to handle such situations now," he said, pointing that the team was determined to reach the finals again.
Mmolawa added that free transport would be available for supporters to attend the final in Johannesburg should the team win their semifinal today.
“Yes, the director’s promise of free transport stands. It’s an important gesture to rally our supporters, because having them behind us in the final would mean everything to the team,” he said. ENDS
