The countdown to the Miss Universe Botswana grand finale, which will be held in Francistown Saturday  has begun, and the second city is buzzing with excitement.

For the first time in history, the prestigious event will be held in Francistown, and preparations are currently in full swing.

 The ten finalists touched down in Francistown last Friday and have since been immersed in a series of activities as they gear up for the big night.

 The grand finale will take place at the Adansonia hotel, which boasts an impressive 6000-seat capacity. Events Coordinator, Gaggy Gosekwang, is thrilled with the progress, saying, “The girls are more than ready to take on the stage. We are excited to be bringing Miss Universe Botswana pageant to Francistown for the first time, and we are confident that it will be an unforgettable experience.” Although the finalists have not had a chance to fully explore Francistown’s rich cultural heritage, Ms Gosekwang noted that the city was a melting pot of diverse traditions. “The girls have been engaging with the local community, and we are sure they will get a taste of Francistown’s vibrant culture before the event,” she added.

As part of their schedule, the finalists visited Sunbet company in Palapye, the main sponsor of this year’s event, where they learned about the ins and outs of betting.

Rehearsals have also been a significant part of their daily routine, ensuring they are perfect for the big night.

Yesterday, the girls attended a kgotla meeting addressed by the MP for Francistown West, Mr Ignatius Moswaane, who will also be the guest speaker at the event.

 They also attended a kgotla meeting addressed by MP for Francistown East, Mr Tiroeaone Ntsima, as part of their community engagement.

Ms Gosekwang assured Batswana that the contestants  were in good health and promised a spectacular show.

“Get ready for a creative, attractive, and beautiful pageant that will leave you mesmerised,” she said.

With just two days to go, Francistown is set to shine as the Miss Botswana grand finale approaches. ENDS
