Upcoming artist, Ketso Letlotlo, known simply as Ketso, is aiming for the musical throne with her debut album titled, Lethabo.

The album title, which loosely translates to happiness in English, marks the newcomer’s industry breakthrough and stands as a symbol of years of hard work and ambition to make a name for herself.

Lethabo features five soulful tracks composed in Setswana, English, and Sekgalagadi, that bridge cultures and reflect Ketso’s own roots. They each weave themes of love, loss, and overcoming life’s challenges. 

The singer explained that listeners should expect music that reflected her personal journey.

“Singing is everything to me, I love pouring myself out through music,” said the Afro-pop singer-songwriter, adding that her passion stemmed from her musical family roots and her early days of singing in church at just eight years-old.

According to the Lehututu-born and bred artist, her big break came with the arrival of the Department of Broadcasting Services (DBS) Roadshow in October 2023 at her home village.

“The show gave me a platform to perform, to record in a studio for the first time and to share my gift with a wider audience,” she said, adding that it was the opportunity that helped her bridge the gap between reality and dreams.

Having crossed that bridge, the songbird said she was now living her dream.

“I made a promise to DJ Fresh during my senior secondary school days that I would be the next big thing, and this is just the beginning,” she said. ENDS
