Mochudi Center Chiefs delivered a commanding performance over Premier League newcomers Calendar Stars, securing a 6-1 victory at the Gaborone United stadium on Saturday.

The Kgatleng-based giants showcased their intent to contend for league honours with the comprehensive win, marking their biggest victory to date and the heaviest defeat ever for the recently promoted Calendar Stars.

The game was characterised by some comical defending and a lack of confidence from the opposition, which contributed to Chiefs’ dominant display.

Tefo Mofokeng led the charge with a brace, while Ibroihim Youssouf, Resaobaka Thatanyane, Gilbert Baruti, and Kitso Mpuisang also found the back of the net. Mofokeng opened the scoring early in the 15th minute, capitalizing on shaky home defensive display.

The visitors struggled to settle into their rhythm after conceding the early goal.

Chiefs’ attacking trio of Mofokeng, Youssouf, and Thatanyane repeatedly threatened the Calendar Stars defense, who failed to stay organized throughout the match.

The visitors managed only one shot on target by Morgan Dick during the entire game.

In other league clashes over the weekend, Township Rollers made a comeback to beat Morupule Wonderers 2-1, with goals from Lehlohonolo Fothoane and Bapaletswe Simon securing their second consecutive win and extending their unbeaten streak.

At Royal Area Stadium, Jwaneng Galaxy edged out Black Lions with a late goal by Chicco Molefe in the 89th minute, ensuring a 1-0 victory and maintaining their perfect start to the 2025/26 season.

Santa Green secured an away victory by defeating Extension Gunners 1-0 in Lobatse. The decisive goal was scored by Thatayaone Magazi in the 70th minute, marking their first maximum points of the season.

In Francistown, Tafic clinched a 3-2 win over Police at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium, completing Saturday’s fixture sweep. ENDS
