 Local tennis rising star, Seabo Saleshando has missed out of an ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J30 second leg boys’ singles semi-final slot after losing 6-0, 6-0 to Dehan Van Deventer of South Africa.

Saleshando said in an interview that he was happy with his performance in the tournament despite exiting in the quarterfinals in both legs.

“It was a really tough match, my opponent changed his game and I was not expecting that, although I gave him too many errors,” he said.

Furthermore, he said there were some positives from the two-legged tournament, as he learnt something new with every match. He said he was also happy that his level had improved, expressing confidence that he would do better in the coming tournaments.

His coach, Phenyo Matong said he was also happy that the player fought in two legs to make it to the quarterfinals, despite the fact that he had not been active due to examinations and illness. Going forward, Matong said the player, who was now looking forward to playing in another tournament in South Africa, would need a lot of time and patience. ENDS
