Prayer group commits to build strong and resilient women

An inspiring all-female prayer group, the 3AM Prayer Warriors, is dedicated to building strong, resilient women through spiritual discipline and community. Started in 2019, the group has expanded nationwide, bringing together Christian women from different denominations to pray in the early hours of the morning.
Founded by Elizabeth Emisang, a devoted Anglican, the 3AM Prayer Warriors started with a simple WhatsApp group and has since grown into a powerful network that connects women through daily prayer calls.
The group’s name comes from their commitment to praying at 3am, a time they believe is biblically significant.
In an interview, Emisang emphasised women’s deep commitment, noting that they fast and sacrifice sleep to connect with God and the Holy Spirit.
This spiritual discipline, she said, helped each woman grow closer to God, hear His guidance more clearly and pray for the nation.
The group’s uniqueness lies in its inclusivity, welcoming women from all Christian backgrounds.
Their goal is to empower every woman who wants to grow spiritually and align her life with God’s teachings. Emisang believed that women, as home builders and caretakers, were crucial to spreading love and peace in their homes, workplaces and communities.
The group’s motto, “a e seka ya nna wena yo o senyetsang yo mongwe botshelo,” meaning, “be not the one destroying someone’s life”, serves as a reminder to be vigilant and to uplift one another.
By practicing genuine love and encouraging each other, the 3AM Prayer Warriors strive to embody the teachings of Jesus, presenting a new kind of woman to the world, one who is transformed by faith, as described in 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Emisang highlighted that through their efforts, they were committed to promoting Jesus as Lord and Saviour every day, through good times and bad. ENDS
