Centre Chiefs have mountain to climb
13 Feb 2014
Mochudi Centre Chiefs will be looking forward to overcome the 3-0 deficit when they host Zimbabwe's Dynamos in Gaborone on Sunday, February 16.
Chiefs will welcome the visitors for the second leg of the CAF champions’ league at the University of Botswana Stadium at 3 p.m. Dynamos will heap pressure on their hosts who face an ominous task of turning the tables around in order to advance to the next level.
Magosi would have to win by four goals to nil to earn a place against the winner of the tie between AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kano Pillars of Nigeria.
Magosi did not score any goal away from home therefore if Dynamos score a goal on Sunday it would make things more difficult for Maaparankwe.
The two teams were meeting for the first time in history last week. However, it was not the first time Dynamos played against a Botswana team as it went past Gaborone United four years ago.
Magosi will hope to banish the memory of their 6-0 defeat last year against DRC’s TP Mazembe. The be Mobile Premier League champions should not lack confidence considering their home ground advantage.
The Zimbabwean giants would go into the second leg at University Of Botswana needing only a draw to advance, leaving Magosi facing a mountain to climb if they were to reverse the deficit.
Mochudi Centre Chiefs public relations officer, Clifford Mogomotsi said the team was under intense training to prepare for the Sunday game. He said they were looking at the current team to choose a final squad for the game. ENDS
