12 Aug 2025

The Botswana Consumer Fair is set to return with fresh developments this year, Fairground Holdings CEO Ms Gorata Gabaraane has announced.
Speaking at a press briefing in Gaborone today, Ms Gabaraane revealed that this year’s edition, scheduled for August 25-31, would feature a special addition; business-to-business sessions and master classes in partnership with local organisation, Job Creation.
“It is a welcome development and a platform that SMMEs can benefit from,” she said.
She also stated that this year’s event would see an upgrade to its prize-awarding ceremony.
“Instead of the traditional cinema-style seating, winners will be celebrated with an elegant dinner on the first day of the fair, aimed at recognising achievement and fostering networking in a more refined setting,” she said.
Over 36 000 consumers and exhibitors are expected to attend, with 11 countries represented across the seven-day event.
For his part, the fairs and exhibitions manager, Mr Ontlametse Ramokgalo said the partnership with Job Creation was intended to enhance the fair’s trade concept.
“This partnership with Job Creation is intended to enhance the trading element within the Botswana consumer fair as we have noted that our fair is dominated by service providers therefore comprimising the trading element,” he said.

He added that with over 50 000 youth enterprises on a yearly basis, leveraging on this platform to expand their brands, connect with customers, and the entire value chain of entrepreneurship would be beneficial to ensure the development of the country’s economy.
Over 36 000 consumers and exhibitors are expected to attend, with 11 countries represented across the seven-day event. ENDS
