Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr Noah Salakae says he is not aware of any project where Joe Electrical was given direct appointment.
Answering a question in Parliament on Thursday, Minister Salakae said he was also not aware of any project in his ministry where Joe Electrical had benefitted through direct appointment.
He said in October 2017, the company was sub-contracted by ENGI-CON, which was the main contractor to undertake the electrical component of Maitengwe Police Station.
He said the total value of the electrical component was over P9 million.
“Be advised that the main contractor was terminated on March 07, 2025 due to non-performance. The scheduled completion time was May 07, 2019,” he said.
Minister Salakae was responding to a question from Tswapong South MP, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang who had asked the minister to state the total number of projects where Joe Electrical was involved.
Dr Gobotswang had also asked the minister to state the said projects and give the total value to each component.
He had also wanted to know projects from which Joe Electrical had benefitted via direct appointment.
The MP had further asked the minister to state as to whether there were no other qualified companies that could have benefitted in the same way. ENDS
