The first edition of Francistown Spin Show will take place at the Francistown Spin Arena, along Dumela Tsamaya Road tomorrow.

The event will also honour the memory of Alfred Keirstead, who lived with disability, and was fondly known as Captain Cripple ‘CC’ in the spin sport fraternity. The show organiser, Koziba Kierstead, wife to Captain Cripple, said that the event was about celebrating her husband’s love for spinning.

It is the beginning of an annual tradition that will keep his legacy alive and shine a spotlight on the sport he adored, Kierstead said, adding that her husband was a popular figure in the spinning community and people always looked forward to seeing him perform. She said the show would feature three international spinners, Brian Sto and Mr Sai from South Africa, as well as Amakhosi from Zimbabwe.

 “This is going to be something special. I really encourage all spinning fans to come out and honour a legend who left a mark on our country’s spinning scene,” she said.

Local talent expected include King Joe, Boss Phiri, Team Block 8, and Villa, among others. The show starts at 12 noon and after 10pm, there will be performances by various artists such as Tumza & the Big Bullets, Madala vs KelyJess. ENDS
