Ipelegeng beneficaries rotate monthly

13 Feb 2014

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told Parliament that under the Ipelegeng programme, there is no three months rotation of beneficiaries but rotation is on monthly basis.

She said with respect to bathugi, there was no policy of rotating them in primary schools because they were engaged on voluntary basis using their own equipment.

Ms Tshireletso said the issue of three months rotation and engagement of bathugi on first served basis did not arise. MP for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile had asked the minister to state why bathugi who were volunteers of the primary school feeding scheme should alternate as it was the case with the Ipelegeng scheme.

Mr Kesupile also asked when the three months rotation period would start and whether those who had been serving wouldl be the first to be considered. ENDS
