LIMID approves 97 projects

The LIMID programme has approved 97 applicants in Tonota North constituency since inception in 2007, Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Oreeditse Molebatsi has said.
Mr Molebatsi said 64 of these projects had been implemented, 31 were for small stock, 16 for tswana chickens, three for guinea fowls, nine for animal husbandry and fodder support, four for borehole drilling and one for borehole equipping.
Responding to a parliamentary question from the MP for Tonota North, Mr Fidelis Molao in Parliament on Wednesday, February 12, Mr Molebatsi said the funded projects were for the villages of Borolong, Chadibe, Natale, Mabesekwa and Jamakata.
Mr Molebatsi said the average turn-around time for one to be assisted through the LIMID programme was 51 days, pointing out that the programme was being re-engineered to improve the turn-around time.
MP Molao had asked the assistant minister to state the number of people who had benefitted from LIMID in Tonota North since 2005 and the turn-around time for one to be assisted. ENDS
