Masunga residents welcome Miss Botswana

Vision needs patience and consistency as it is built over time and vital for one’s success. 

Kgosi Thabo Masunga Maruje III said at the homecoming ceremony of the newly crowned Miss Botswana, Ruth Thomas in Masunga on Friday. Kgosi Maruje III said the queen had been given the platform but it was upon her to decide what she was going to use the platform for, depending on how she focused on her vision and fighting for it.

“You have been given the responsibility and the opportunity that the community and the citizenry was so proud of,” he said, adding that all eyes around the world was watching her.

He assured her that they would engage and work cordially with Botswana Council of Women (BCW) to ensure that all challenges were unravelled for her to sail swiftly during her tenure leading to the world competition. Kgosi Maruje III further said Miss Botswana was a leadership position adding that BCW should be supported to enable them nurture the country’s pageants.

The queen said everything was possible when one believed and had a vision. Thomas said hers was a vision which started three years back as a desire and later became a reality, and now she was a shining light that inspired the youth.

“I intend to put Masunga on the map for the world to see that this village was rich in all assortment of cultures and was a place to be,” she said.

She urged the community to work together in nurturing all forms of talents to amaze the world and ensure that their village and the country was represented with all forms of abilities. ENDS
