Government addresses water shortage in Boteti

The water shortage situation in the Boteti Sub-district will be addressed through the Boteti northern and southern cluster villages water supply projects, Parliament has been told.
Responding to a parliamentary question on February 10, Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse said such projects consisted of the equipping, electrification and connection of boreholes to three treatment plants situated in Moreomaoto, Mokoboxane and Makalamabedi.
The projects, Mr Seretse said, were delayed while the northern cluster project commenced in January 2014 and the southern cluster projects was anticipated to start in May this year after upgrading of the designs.
Minister Seretse, who was responding to a question on behalf of the Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, said, “the lead – time project per project is two years.”
The MP for Boteti North, Mr Slumber Tsogwane had asked the minister as to when the long outstanding water shortage problem for villages in Boteti sub district such as Mopipi, Xhumo, Xere, Rakops would be resolved. ENDS
