Khawa Dune Challenge promises grandeur experience

This year’s Khawa Dune Challenge and Cultural Festival promises patrons funfair with its packed activities including motorsport action and vibrant cultural showcase.
The much-anticipated event, billed for Khawa from June 27 to 29 is set to draw thrill-seekers and culture enthusiasts alike for an unforgettable experience.
President Advocate Duma Boko is expected to officially open the festival on June 28.
According to Incepta Communications, Executive Director Thabo Majola, the festival will kick off on June 27 with the roaring engines of quadbikes and motorcycles with motorsport time trials in the morning, and advanced rounds continuing in the afternoon.
He said football and beach volleyball tournaments would also commence the same day with preliminary matches.
Beyond the adrenaline, Friday would feature significant community engagement activities, including blanket and toiletry donation at the Kgotla, and mini racetrack activities for children.
The evening, he said would culminate in a cultural night showcasing Polka, traditional dances, and poetry from local artistes and cultural groups.
He said June 28, will be filled with exciting activities, starting with motorsport races for quadbikes and motorcycles, alongside a 4x4 Landcruiser Club showcase. This will be followed by horse racing leading into an afternoon livestock auction.
He further explained that throughout the day, attendees could partake in a variety of activities including a 4x4 challenge, tug of war, dune climb competition, football and beach volleyball finals, stunt bikes, and sand boarding.
The Khawa festival night would take over from 7pm till late, featuring performances by contemporary artistes, DJ sets, and dance sessions, concluding with a dazzling fireworks display.
