Faith to represent Botswana in Philippines

Mister and Miss Botswana Primary and Secondary Schools pageantry will hold a fashion show at Dilolwe Hall in Kanye on Saturday to raise funds for Miss Millennium Mannequin Botswana Faith Laetsang and her mother’s travelling expenses.
Standard three pupil at Gobuamang Memorial Primary School in Thamaga together with her team are horning her skill ahead of the Millennium Mannequin International pageant, billed for at Quezon City, Philippines on August 20-24. The seven-year- old Faith and her mother Keatlarete needs P52 000 to travel to the Philippines on August 18 where she will represent the country on the international ramp. She scooped the Little Miss Millenium Mannequin Botswana during the Mister and Miss Botswana Primary and Secondary Schools pageantry held in Gaborone December 14 last year.
The pageant affords aspiring models to create branding and networking as a stepping stone to venture into the international modeling industry. In an interview the pageant’s director, Botlhale Menyatso, said Faith aka the little TOTO queen will join other category winners to the Philippines. He said while preparations were going accordingly having secured the likes of Leloba Creations, Leeba Crafts and Legakwa Designs for her wardrobe, they were still in search of money for air tickets famong other things.
Menyatso said Faith, who earned herself an opportunity to be crowned as Little Miss Millennium Mannequin, has been engaged in community outreach project themed: Reaching out to the broken hearts, your happiness, my happiness matters.
The Little Mister and Miss Botswana Primary and Secondary Schools pageant director said Faith donated fruit and shade trees to Motswedi Rehabilitation Centre, Mochudi Resource Centre for the Blind as well as to Annestine School in Molepolole where she gifted them with toiletries, stationaries and fruits and vegetables. According to him, the engagements were meant to prepare the reigning Little Miss Millennium Mannequin Botswana for the beauty with a purpose pageant section.
Moreover, he said Faith has been gracing various events to help groom her on overcoming stage fright, and building her confidence. Menyatso said while at the Philippines, Faith will be expected to compete in various categories which includes the Tittles category, the Little Miss International, Charity Princess of Africa and Overall Grand Winner. He said, there would be other various prices and packages as well as cash prizes.
The director said Faith as a school going pupil was receiving academic support from both her mother and the teacher with remedial work. He said sthey were mentoring her on public speaking, stage presence and cat walk. Menyatso appealed to the public to patronise the event which will commence at 9am. ENDS
