Salvation Choir from Eloyi Christian Church in Maun left the audience in awe of captivating experience during a Clap and Tap live concert at Life Centre on Friday.

Known for vibrant performances, the choir set pace from the onset proving immense talent in singing, treating the packed audience to excellent and soulful gospel melodies such as Maatla a sona ke bophelo and Lona ba ratang ho phela among others leaving them in a very jovial mood.

The concert, which aimed to bring together young voices to entertain music enthusiasts as well as raise funds to support developmental projects in the church, attracted various choirs showcasing a broader range of vocal styles and musical genres.

The Lutheran Church choir, Eloyi Church Choir from Francistown branch enhanced the overall experience for both performers and audience. Eloyi Christian Church leadership from different branches including Archbishop Sekai Jakoba, district leadership and other pastors from other different churches in Maun graced the spectacular event.

Speaking during the event, Eloyi Christian Church in Maun, Bishop Moagi Ntukununu appreciated the church leadership for gracing the event hoping that their support would help make their dream of building the church a reality. He said they had been making efforts to construct a church building and the project was incomplete as it was currently at the roofing level and appreciated that Salvation Choir had been instrumental in generating money for the project.

“We are here to raise funds to complete the roofing stage which needs P150 000. Currently we have already spent P500 000 on the envisaged project. We are hopeful that we will manage to raise the needed amount through this event,” said Bishop Ntukununu, appreciating clap and tap choirs and all stakeholders for their invaluable support towards the project.

He said initially the project needed P1.5 million.

Meanwhile, Salvation Choir made waves last year clinching position three at the annual National Arts Festival. The choir competed under the newly introduced Clap and Tap category and walked away with P38 000 at the national stage. ENDS
